The Hammerer Aluminium Group uses RUF briquetting presses to efficiently close the material loop. When aluminium chips from production are compressed into briquettes and then remelted, the material yield is approximately eight percentage points higher than when melting loose chips. Using their own, precisely defined materials also ensures consistently high alloy quality.

The efficiency of manufacturing companies who regularly machine steel and stainless steel is influenced by more than just the application of productive machining centers. The methods of dealing with the resulting steel chips also carry huge potential. This potential can be tapped by the application of high-quality briquetting systems, like those manufactured in various dimensions and performance classes by RUF Maschinenbau, Zaisertshofen. The modern hydraulic presses for steel and stainless steel chips operate with a specific pressing power of up to 5,000 kg/cm² and achieve throughput performances of between 30 and 3,000 kg/hour.

In its plants in Passau and neighbouring Thyrnau, ZF Friedrichshafen AG has recovered around 1.75 million litres of valuable oil in the past twelve years by pressing grinding sludge in RUF briquetting presses. Adding to the environmental benefits, there are great economic advantages: The two presses have returned their investment in half a year and about two years, respectively.

Pallet manufacturer, Košcal, expands Business field with briquette production using by RUF systems. Thousands of tons of wood chips are produced yearly during the production of wooden pallets. Instead of selling them for a pittance, the croatian pallet manufacturer Košcal invested in its first briquetting system from RUF, Zaisertshofen, about ten years ago and thereby increased the value of their wood residuals tenfold. In the meantime briquetting with two modern RUF Lignum R6 Presses has become a second pillar of income for the Company making up around one third of their total revenues.
