Carl Zeiss Sports Optics uses specialised RUF presses for small chip volumes at its machining centres

With three particularly compact and mobile briquetting systems of the Formika type from RUF Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG, Carl Zeiss Sports Optics presses aluminium chips from machining operations into almost dry briquettes.

Everllence/MAN Energy Solutions closes the material cycle with presses from RUF

Everllence compresses the cast chips produced during manufacturing into compact briquettes, which are then remelted again in its own foundry. In doing so, the Augsburg based company, known as MAN Energy Solutions until early June, closes the material cycle and reduces costs. Three briquetting systems from RUF are in operation, processing well over a thousand tonnes of chips per year. RUF is now upgrading one of the briquetting presses to expand production.

As energy prices for oil and gas continue to rise, wood has regained its importance as an energy source. It is locally available, cost-stable, and environmentally friendly. One of the most efficient ways to use wood energy is in the form of briquettes – such as RUF wood briquettes.

The Hammerer Aluminium Group uses RUF briquetting presses to efficiently close the material loop. When aluminium chips from production are compressed into briquettes and then remelted, the material yield is approximately eight percentage points higher than when melting loose chips. Using their own, precisely defined materials also ensures consistently high alloy quality.

Complex processes can turn biomass into energy-rich biocoal. The Finnish company NextFuel AB has developed an advanced torrefaction technology for this purpose, with briquetting systems from C.F. Nielsen A/S, which is part of the German RUF Group, used for the important final process step.
