RUF's briquetting technology helps the automotive supplier ZF Gusstechnologie GmbH to shape its processes in a more efficient way. With the help of RUF units, the pressure die-casting specialist presses the aluminium chips, which arise when working on passenger car gearboxes and gear parts, into solid briquettes and, at the same time, frees them to a great extent from adhesive cooling lubricants. This means the company saves a lot of space and logistics expenditures, avoids lubricant carryover, protects the environment and raises the sales revenues from the aluminium chips.  

Wood-flooring maker Scheucher is proud of its ultra high quality combining sustainability with economy. In order to extract the fullest from its input stock wood, it utilises six RUF briquetting systems that convert the high-volume wood chips and sawdust from its production into compact briquettes. Thanks to their high calorific value, these are in great demand and reduce the payback times for these systems to less than three years.

Füngeling has built up a new business field using RUF presses. Pallet manufacturer, Füngeling, has set up a lucrative new business field, meanwhile using 3 briquetting presses from RUF. Discarded wooden pallets are processed by the company in Erftstadt, to wood briquettes which are highly prized by fireplace users as CO₂-neutral fuel. And the business should continue to grow.

Master Carpenter Hermann Schreder knows problems with troublesome wood shavings first-hand. He has ended it three years ago: With the RUF briquetting system, he compresses wood shavings to compact wood briquettes, which can be stored easily. He heats his operation with a part of these briquettes. The much larger portion is sold as fuel. The briquetting press pays off in a short time only by this.

Pallet manufacturer, Košcal, expands Business field with briquette production using by RUF systems. Thousands of tons of wood chips are produced yearly during the production of wooden pallets. Instead of selling them for a pittance, the croatian pallet manufacturer Košcal invested in its first briquetting system from RUF, Zaisertshofen, about ten years ago and thereby increased the value of their wood residuals tenfold. In the meantime briquetting with two modern RUF Lignum R6 Presses has become a second pillar of income for the Company making up around one third of their total revenues.

When processing wood, shavings and wood residues are generated, sometimes in large quantities. This can be a valuable raw material, if it is processed into briquettes using high-quality machinery.
