RUF at LIGNA 2025
Turning Wood Waste Into Valuable Capital
RUF Maschinenbau with C.F. Nielsen at LIGNA 2025 (Hall 25, Booth J49)
The main topics of the world’s leading trade fair for the woodworking and wood processing industry – LIGNA 2025 – were chosen well: Apart from digitalization, sustainability, a specialization of the RUF Group, is in focus. As “briquetting experts,” world market leader RUF Maschinenbau and its subsidiary C.F. Nielsen will show how wood waste can be optimally recycled in Hall 25 at Booth J49.
Trade visitors to LIGNA 2025 in Hanover will mainly be interested in woodworking and wood processing. However, chip removal is not the only thing meant here. The handling of the resulting wood waste is also implied. For a long time, this was considered to be a necessary evil. However, a new way of thinking in which resource conservation and profitability go hand in hand is catching on.
Among other things, high-quality briquetting systems such as the ones that the specialists from the Bavarian company RUF Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG and the Danish company C.F. Nielsen A/S will be jointly exhibiting in Hall 25 at Booth J49 are key here. With their innovative hydraulic and mechanical briquetting systems, the two companies can offer a suitable solution for nearly any requirement, no matter what type of chips should be processed or what throughputs are needed. From 30 to 4,000 kg/h, anything is possible.
A RUF 800 equipped with interesting features is just one of the systems that visitors will be able to see live in Hanover. It achieves a throughput of 670 kg/h with a 37 kW motor and a specific press pressure of 1700 kg/cm2. This makes it primarily suitable for large amounts of wood shavings and other waste materials such as wood chips or agricultural waste.
The company will also present three hydraulic machines virtually. This means that A small “Briklet,” a medium-sized “Lignum Classic,” and a large RUF 1200 will be continuously displayed on screens so that visitors can literally get a picture of the performance capabilities of these briquetting presses.
RUF subsidiary C.F. Nielsen will be exhibiting its largest machine, the BP 7510. Thanks to its innovative dual feeding system, it can achieve up to 3500 kg/h and is mainly used in high-capacity industrial production processes. Because extremely large amounts of wood waste are often produced here, one machine is often not sufficient. C.F. Nielsen will present solutions for this in the form of virtually displayed production lines. Three industry solutions will be shown as examples: one for wood processing companies that produce briquettes for end consumers, one for the container industry, and one for the silo industry.
If you want to find out which technology and solution are the best for a given case, then LIGNA 2025 provides an ideal platform. Company experts are on hand at all times to explain to trade visitors the functioning and key characteristics of the systems exhibited in real life and virtually. (Hall 25, Booth J49)
About the companies
RUF Maschinenbau: The company Ruf, with headquarters in Zaisertshofen, Germany, was founded by Hans Ruf in 1969. Today, his sons Roland and Wolfgang Ruf run the businesses. Around 190 employees worldwide develop and manufacture highly innovative modular briquetting machines for wood, metal, and other types of waste materials. The smallest machine of the type RUF Formica with motor output of 2.2 kW achieves a throughput of 100 kg/h. (depending on material and chip type). The largest machine (RUF 90) with 90 kW achieves up to 2,500 kg/h for aluminum, for casting up to 3,000 kg/h and for copper material up to 5,000 kg/h.
Ruf delivered its first briquetting press in 1985. Still fully functional to this day, it is a testament to the solid construction of the RUF machines. By now, there are more than 6,000 RUF briquetting systems running in over 100 countries.
The company C.F. Nielsen, with headquarters in Baelum, Denmark, was founded in 1889 and has been part of the German RUF Group since 2018. With around 30 employees, the company develops and manufactures high-quality mechanical briquetting presses and is considered to be a leading supplier in this segment. C.F. Nielsen has sold more than 7000 presses since its inception.
