Record Year for RUF Germany
Investing in a successful future
The latest evaluations confirm it: The year 2024 was a record year for RUF Germany. Both revenue (EUR 30.6 million) and the number of machines sold at Zaisertshofen (319) were never higher at any time in the company’s history. Managing Director Roland Ruf expects this positive trend to continue. To ensure the company is optimally equipped to handle this, he is continuing to invest in state-of-the-art machines, systems, and infrastructure.
Demand for high-quality briquetting presses, which help manufacturing companies work both economically and sustainably, is rising. Sales revenues and volumes at RUF in Germany are developing accordingly nicely. In 2024 alone, the machine manufacturer posted an approximately 20 percent increase in revenue. Ruf Group revenues remained nearly constant, at around EUR 43 million.
While in the energy crisis year of 2023 it was mainly the wood segment that boomed, last year RUF saw strong growth primarily in the metals segment. For Roland Ruf, it was a positive development overall: “Because we are active in many industries, economic fluctuations in individual areas do not affect us that strongly. In 2024, for example, business with briquetting presses in the wood segment declined. Conversely, aluminum and grinding sludge systems in particular grew disproportionately. But also the many smaller segments, which include, for example, special machines for biomass, plastics, and PU materials, supplement our business very constantly.”
Investments in the future
The Managing Director is also optimistic about 2025 and expects double-digit growth rates. To ensure that it can meet the expected higher demand while simultaneously increasing the efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability of operations, the Zaisertshofen-based company regularly makes targeted investments in new machines, systems, and other state-of-the-art equipment. For example, a robotic welding cell with a crane system, a pipe-bending machine, and two state-of-the-art machining centers were purchased for six figures each.
In addition, a new forklift with an environmentally friendly electric drive was bought to help improve internal logistics. With the realization of a further, modern meeting room with a high-quality audio and video system, ideal conditions for video conferencing and a pleasant atmosphere for on-site collaborations with customers and partners have been created.
Another major project is already lined up for 2025 and will be realized in the first quarter. The reception area will be modernized and given a new, inviting design with a seating area, a monitor, and modern wall elements. A material wall that illustrates to all visitors the variety of briquetting possibilities that the company offers is also planned.
